Otherwise, take a sip of ‘Mr. Teacher’ for a more traditional Brandy-Whisky based aperitif that is bound to put you in detention. Despite some higher-than-average price tags, your guaranteed to find a drink suited to your palette at this trendy spot.

Apertivo (€€)

Best For – Dining like a local.

Apertivo is one of the best Tapas (Pesticos when in Portugal) restaurants & bar on the Faro map. Apertivo’s customers speak highly of their visits to this “5-star service” restaurant offering “lot’s of choice of different Tapas, nice atmosphere and live music on the terrace”. Customer reviews always speak for the authenticity a place offers and this is one of those not to be missed. Located in the centre of Faro, this restaurant with a cute in and outdoor eating area will not let you down.

Amare Beach Club (€€-€€€)

Best for – Sunset and chill

Bar CheSsenta (€)

Best for – Live music that may have you singing the night away.

On the famous cafe street of Rua do prior, Bar CheSsenta attracts a younger 20-30’s crowd with tasty drinks and those wannabe pop-stars with their frequent karaoke events. This small and pokey bar in central Faro hosts weekly live music from local artists so if you are up for a more lively atmosphere then head to Bar CheSsenta.

Piper’s Irish Pub (€)

Best for – A conversation with fellow tourists

Whether you are an Irish native or not, a backpacker just passing through, or a couple on a pleasant weekend trip; there is nothing better than a reliable and warming drop-in at the local Irish pub. So if you fancy a Guinness or at least, a conversation with other Faro visitors then head over to Piper’s in the centre of Faro. Simply lovely.

3 Points Sports bar (€)

Best for – Sports and a good happy hour

From 16:00-20:00 (As of Sept 2021), 3 Points sports bar puts on a tradition happy hour with a wide array of drinks on the menu; Septembers choice was Imperial Lager and Somersby cider. So if you are up for a fun afternoon full of laughs and drinks then head here for Karaoke every Wednesday evening, a game of fusbal, pool and darts; plus the biggest events on the screen. You can guarantee enjoyment for all ages, even the little ones.

Eddie’s Bar (€)

Address – Rua de Loule 59, Faro

Best for – Iron Maiden lovers.

“Run to the hills, Run for your lives”. On the outskirts of Faro in Laranjeira is a great Iron Maiden themed bar if you fancy some food & drink listening to this iconic band’s top hits. Carlos, the owner of Eddie’s bar, is very sociable and has developed a scene suited to those looking for a casual meal and drink within a rockers atmosphere.
