Vale do Lobo is a resort in Portugal perfectly positioned on the Algarve coastline. It caters for both ends of the budget, offering luxury and self catering accommodation. The resort was founded in 1929 by two families, the Treze and the Alves de Leon, who were the owners of a coffee plantation on the resort’s namesake peninsula.

What’s the Weather Like?
The location and the temperatures mean that any weather isn’t too much of an issue, but the recent bad weather has been a little tricky to deal with. If you’re here during the summer months, the temperature is a comfortable 21°C in November and 15°C in July. To get the best of the sun, make sure you’re positioned on the west side of the hotel facing the Atlantic. There are outdoor areas that are ideal for lounging, sunbathing and enjoying a coffee or cocktail.
How Do You Get To Vale do Lobo?
The drive is a short one – about 20 minutes from Faro Airport. It’s also a very easy drive from Faro, on the A8. By train, it’s only a 10 minute train ride to the station near the port, Almaraz.
The resort is located along the Atlantic coast on a hillside – boasting views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the sandy beaches of Albufeira, Portimao, and Lagos. The hillside location is also perfect for walking along the Atlantic cliffs to other Algarve locations.
