Remember to either negotiate the price before you get in or make sure that they have the meter on. Buses from Faro Airport
If you are arriving in the daytime and happy to take public transport from Faro Airport you have two main bus options – the number 14 and number 16 take you to the Proximo bus station in central Faro. Make sure that you have a few Euros in change for the bus as they rarely give change. The number 16 goes via the beach. These buses start running at around 6am and run through till around 11.30pm. They run every 30 minutes and so you shouldn’t have to wait too long.
Intercity buses that take you around the Algarve depart from the Eva bus station – the older bus station next to the Proximo bus station.
Faro Train Station
There is no train link at Faro airport so you will need to make your way by taxi or connecting bus to Faro city centre for the train station there. The train station is just 200m from the Proximo bus station. As you can see from the train link network diagram below (from https://en.aeroportodefaro.com/trains) there are links to all major destinations including Lagos, Portimao, Albufeira and Tavira.
